2025 Recap
2025 was overall a great year but it didn't go without its highs and lows.
December
December did not start out well for me, I had just started out my new lease with Brooks, my lesson before my first show I fell off twice. I had my first show with him - had absolutely zero confidence but made it through

| busted and jammed my knee (couldn't walk normal for over a week) |
I had a show and two clinics in Jan. I think the jumper show came first and then i had my eventing clinic where i rode brooks in dressage and Cyrus in advanced jumping. Jan. was hard for me, I really wanted to switch my lease to Cyrus because I thought I was ruining Brooks.
February
I got to ride twice to the jumper show, once in x-rails with Brooks (he got his first first) and once in 2ft with Cyrus, showing Cyrus gave me so much confidence it started to transfer to Brooks. I also got to ride in the snow for the first time!! At the end of the month I took Cyrus to Portofino for the Doung Payne clinic.
March
I started to get more and more confidence with Brooks, i started to trust him more and he started to trust me. We practiced hunter show courses and did some jumping in an online show (we got first and champion) We also built jumps for the barn to stay in the upper arena. We did some dressage work for the first time in a "dressage ring"
April
April was a big month for me, I competed cross country for the first time a did my first weekend show with Cyrus, and went to the kentucky 3 day event.
MayHere is when things started to click for me and brooks, we did our first off property show, a CT. We scored a 34 something in dressage and went double clear in stadium, we also scored 2nd. We cantered our first jump, and started jumper show prep!!
June
I had my first summer jumper show of the series, and we helped out with a lot of camps, i even did one of the camps. The summer jumper show had a high jump so that was a lot of fun!!
July
It was very hot so we didn't do all that much but we had our jumper show, and high jump again. I was really clicking with Brooks at this point and our bond got stronger every time i rode him and hung out with him.
August
We had another jumper show, and i had my 3rd and final fall off of brooks. After the jumper show we really started to work on his fitness and dressage to get him ready for the event we were going to.
September
I started trying the lease horses in September, getting ready to switch leases in December. I rode two of the horses Kota and Dynamite, I liked them both but I knew they wouldn't be the ones i would lease. I started to ride Brooks again at the end of the month in my lesson so we could prepare for all of our October events.
October
This is probably my most chaotic month ever but also one of my favorites at the same time. First we went xc schooling for my best friends birthday, I rode Sindri for the first time, I had my first ever full event, and I got to take brooks to the state fair and he did so good (he did amazing at all his things like always) There were more little things we did to, Brooks got clipped and I cantered him bareback for the first time.
November
This was a happy-sad month for me, I did my last show with brooks, I took Sindri on a trail ride, and i got to do some really fun things with Brooks before my lease ended.
December
Having Sindri has already taught me a lot, it's definitely been a weird month its super cold and then warm all the sudden, I'm prepping Sindri for his first show, the Jan. jumper show (we get to compete 2') I've already made so much progress with him, I can't wait to see where we go! Bring on 2026!!
