I TOOK SINDRI ON A TRAIL RIDE!!!!

 Today I was able to take Sindri on a trail ride, and he was amazing!! It was just walk-trot, but it was really good for both of us! It was my 4th time riding him, and it was his 3rd time off property.

He was pretty good about getting in the trailer, he just needed a little extra encouragement before he hopped right on and took a huge bite of alfalfa hay from his hay bag.

The ride there was pretty straightforward, and he unloaded great. He was a bit muddy because he rolled as soon as he went out this morning, and he was a bit sweaty from the trailer ride.

Once we got on and started out on the trails, Sindri demanded to be in front, and he was a very brave leader - being the first one over the very scary bridge, which had just added new railings too, and going past the very scary puppy. When we started trotting, he was really good (I thought he’d be a bit more on the explosive side) and settled down really nicely.

After our ride, he very much enjoyed his snacks. He was also a bit destructive on the way back to the barn and ripped his hay bag on the ride home, but still enjoyed his snacks in the trailer.

I definitely think he’s ready for a walk- trot -canter, trail ride next time. He did so good this time, I think he'd enjoy doing more because he likes getting out of the arena.
