Long story short....

Well we successfully made it through our first event and even have a ribbon to boot!

Sindri was amazing both days, schooling went really well - we jump schooled our course, and schooled our dressage test, before going out and doing some small things on xc!

Making a small log look like it's as big as a novice house๐Ÿ˜‚

competition day went great as well, we ended up not being able to use his new bridle for dressage, so he kinda said "this is not my fancy bridle... sorry but i'm not listening" we ended up getting a 40 which was what we all thought it would be... then later in jumping we were one of the only ones to jump double clear. We ended up in 3rd place overall, so I think it was a very successful first outing!

The un-successful parts...

the good always comes with its bad, and honestly this is the reason I've been holding off on this post for so long...

After the show on Sunday, it took about 30 minutes to unload Sindri form the trailer he would not get off the trailer he kept freaking out and trying to turn around.

Then he went lame. he got a new set of shoes and was super sensitive and went lame for the entire month. when he came back into work (beginning of april) he wasn't strong enough to hold a frame and honestly forgot everything he knew. we had an event a couple weeks after he came back into work, our trainer didn't get enough people to go so we went on our own...

we got there to school the day before and he wouldn't unload, he ended up smashing my head into the trailer but we got him out and rode he loaded back up great my trainer helped me unload when we got back to the barn it was all great. Competition day: he loaded great in the morning and unloaded really well dressage wasn't very good, back to the part about only coming back a couple weeks before and we didn't have the best preparation pulled two rails in stadium and one stop on xc (not his fault at all) not bad considering. great day i was super happy packed up and home we went... or so we thought. he wouldn't load into the trailer. took 2 hours 5 people and 2cc of ace to get him on the trailer and home.

as you can tell I've had reason to put this post off, hence my absence. also i couldn't be on electronics because remember when i said he smashed my head into the trailer Saturday well... he gave me a severe concussion so now he's had two weeks off and i just started riding again.

I dont think were going to be going anywhere on our own without my barn/trainer for a bit...
