HALLOWEEN SHOW!!!

 Every year my barn hosts a Halloween show and it's so much fun to do!! 

They have a bunch of different classes instead of just Hunter jumpers.

Classes like bareback, barrel racing, western trail, hunter hack, and of course costume !

It also happened to be my last show with Brooks and my heart breaks every time I think about it 😭but... if I had to pick any show for it to be our last I would have picked this one, because there's no better way to finish off a lease the with the best show of the year.

We had our costume class first and I did a duo's costume with my best friend O and we placed 5th! 

The next class was bareback and ride-a-buck. The ride-a-buck class is basically who can keep a dollar bill under there leg the longest while bareback (i didn't do very well in that)

After bareback we had egg and spoon and I won!! we had a bunch of people in the walk trot division maybe like 8 people in it total and a lot of people lost their eggs right away and it got down to me, my sister L, and our best friend O, and then O lost hers and it was sister against sister and then L lost hers I'm really proud of brooks for how good he was at it i wasn't sure because id never ridden him one handed.

we had 3 barrel classes next (keep in mind we had no practice at all and he's never done anything like this before)

our first barrel pattern is kind of like pole bending but you weave up 3 barrels and then weave back down again we call that Texas barrels. The second barrel pattern is my favorite its just one barrel you run up turn around it and run back, we call that speed barrels. The third barrel pattern is normal cloverleaf barrels. i got two 3rds and a second so for having no practice i think we did amazing!!

After barrels I had western flat classes and my western trail class, my flat classes were not very good but my trail class was amazing i can't believe how well he did with it (a lot of these classes we had no practice going into them) We also got first in the trail class.

After trail we had English classes (yes it was a very long day) I was in charge of leading O's little sister around for a leadline class so we did that and brooks (never done a leadline thing in his life) jumped into the trot and scared J really bad and she didn't want to trot the rest of the class and came out of the ring crying, so after my walk trot canter class i talked to my instructor who said she could ride Raulf instead and i feel really bad like its my fault i didn't train my pony well enough.

After my 2 flat classes I had my jumping class and we did 2'3'' and he was amazing for it!! We got 5th- he looked at the jumps and didn't halt right at the cone. after that we were all done it was a very long day 😂

We ended up 4th overall and it was great I'm so proud of Brooks and i couldn't have asked for a better last show with him. later this week I will probably do a memory post about with with all of our best moments from the year.
