Moving up + Moving Forward

Well I've made it through a whole week with my lease on Sindri.... and we are already making progress!! He now stands at the mounting block while I get on and doesn't walk away as soon as I'm on - something we've been working on for a couple of weeks.

I also feel like I'm actually starting to figure him out more!

We also have been working at the barn doing full shifts all by ourselves so I guess our trainer trusts me and my sister more than I realized. We did PM shift last night and she asked us to do it again tonight and again in a week.

The cool thing about our barn is it used to be a breeding and training facility for racehorses and some of the racehorses that they bred there are still in work after their racehorse career.

I'm also super exited for our barns winter jumper show series normally the have a jumper show in Dec. Jan. and Feb. and that's the jumper series until summer - that being said this year they are not having a jumper show in Dec. but are having 2 in Feb. I think they realized that having a jumper show right at the start of our new green horse leases was a bit much so now we have a month to prepare so maybe (?) me and Sindri can do 2' but I'm guessing we'll be in 18''

DECEMBER UPDATE:

I'm taking Sindri to..... THE MOSS FOUNDATION!!!! I've actually been there once before and i loved it! there are some xc jumps around the trails and there are more than 200 acers of trails, last time when i went it was really hot out so after we rode we took the horses swimming in the pond and it was so much fun!! I cant wait to take Sindri I think it would be a really good next step for us after our walk trot trail ride last month, being able to canter and do some little xc jumps in such a no pressure situation will be really good for him!!

The dark green is all trails

Well its officially going to be a very cold December.... this is the second time its threatened to snow (we don't normally get snow until almost February)

At least we will have some sun ๐Ÿ‘

It's also officially time to spoil our ponies rotten... so I've boughten Sindri a couple of things... and me one item but its also for him...

I got him a pair of no turn LeMieux carbonite bell boots - size medium because his current Majak Equipe bell boots in large have been spinning around in the middle of our rides because he has tint feet... they obviously don't work as well when they are backwards so I'm hoping that will help.

I have this thing where I ALWAYS buy my lease horse a LeMieux halter in a special color - yes sindri already has a halter and it looks pretty on him but It's kinda my thing so I'll always have a memory. for Cyrus that color was Fern and for Brooks that color was the Petrol and now Sindri's special color will be Benton Blue... it also doesn't help my obsession when I'm basically know for picking the best color for each horse so no pressure there ๐Ÿ˜‚

The last thing is mostly for me (sorry Sindri) I got a cross country watch, now that I'm going to be eventing more and trying to be a bit more competitive I'm going to need it. In October I actually used a fitbit watch and started the timer when I left the start box but lemme tell you turning that thing on to see my time while I was galloping was a PAIN. It wasn't horrible with Brooks but I have a feeling my little tb is gonna be a monster out there on xc so I want something I can look at quickly so that I don't die....

little sneak peek at his gifts๐Ÿคซ๐Ÿคซ

cute little extra bonus photo with our new lease horses

Well my sister L decided on her new lease horse and she chose a pony named Chai (the palomino pictured above) and lets just say its weird because we've completely switched she's on a pony and I'm on a ottb its very very weird being taller than her now. Sindri has also come across that he doesn't like Chai very much after she kept almost crashing into him multiple times and went galloping wildly around the arena. So that's fun. He already hates his new riding buddy for the year. If you want to learn more about Chai and my sister L you can see the blog my sister just started here.
