Lease ride on Brooksss

 I have missed riding Brooks sooooo much and yesterday I was finally able to ride him. It's funny how I'm leasing him, but it's been almost a week since I last rode him because I'm prepping for different things that he's not quite ready for yet. Anywayyyyy he was very good yesterday and we rode in the upper ring and worked on our weekly exercise. I just started walking kind of to get to know him again and then when we started trotting he went into it so well and was very good and wasn't speedy at all. The only thing was he didn't have his normal energy and I think it's because he was hot. He has such a thick coat still and spring has been very warm so far so I think he was just hot. But we start in our exercise and he was great he was definitely wiggly through the x pattern with that cavilettis but it got better each time. We canter one lap each way and did the exercise one more time and we were dead straight and it was so good I let him be done on that and we walked a bunch of laps each way with my sister and her lease horse Odin. I saw my sister (L) walking around with no stirrups, so I decided I wanted to try it too. So I just started by taking my left one out so I still had one syrup in case he freaked out and he was so good! I ended up being able to walk without any stirrups and he was so good!! Guess we can walk out with no stirrups now lol 😂 after I rode he got lots of treats and he got hosed down in the wash stall and then got to graze in the sun to dry off a little bit more before I treated his hooves for a thrush and oiled them. He was great for the whole thing!
