Hunt horseee

So.... if you saw my fairgrounds post this is an add on to it now that the show is over! Overall it was a great first big weekend show for both of us,
schooling went amazing both days and we had a great weekend!

 Friday

we had our first judged classes, just 3 flat classes. The first one was go as you please and we placed 8th out of 8 riders.... The next one was our equitation flat class and he did one massive buck and swerved in at the canter but apparently the judge wasn't looking because we got a callback which is CRAZY because I was in the top 10 of like 20 other horses and riders!! The bad part was J and secret didn't get a callback and as soon as they walked out of the ring secret started screaming so Cyrus realized that she was gone and screamed back and started prancing around and then as soon as we were told "your now being judged on the rail at a walk" he reared up (it was mini) and then we just kept going and he kept bouncing around and bucking but then they called sitting trot and he was so perfect and then they asked us to stay sitting trot into left lead canter and he bucked huge then we kept going and picked up the canter but in the end we did not place because he just kept doing random things like that. We came out after our equitation class waiting for the under saddle and Jenna told us to take Cyrus up to the warm-up ring and school him till my next class so maybe he would get all his crazys out and then we went in for under saddle and he was the same thing and we didn't place so we ended with one ribbon from that can and my instructor gave me the stick-ability award for riding it out lol

Saturday

It was definitely less chaotic (ish) and we warmed up really nicely and popped over the jumps really well and then we went in ring for our first over fences course and we trotted around to the top and then the speaker announced us and spooked Cyrus really hard he stopped and went left and I went flying right and onto the ground. I got up and we walked out of the ring and watched J and F do there rounds (without falling) and then I had to go in for my second class, so I got a leg up and went in and my instructor J told me I could just walk until he was calm so I said " I'm gonna walk until the speaker announces me" she laughed and then the speaker announced me and I trotted around to my first jump and he cantered out and we actually had a really good round (besides a few weird spots) and we placed 5th! For the hunter hack he was very good and did it perfectly except he halted side ways so we didn't get a callback but it's okay.

Sunday

I had to fix his button braids in the morning before our flat classes and this time I put pom poms in his ears so maybe he wouldn't be terrified of the speaker. We went to the outdoor ring where our classes were being held for the day and started warming up and he was sooooo slow which was good but still my legs died. Anyways in my first class it was go as you please pony (same three classes as Friday) and we placed 6th out of 8? riders I think. The next two classes had sooooooo many people that they split the classes and did a callback of ten riders total (5 from each split) and I didn't get a callback for any of them but of welll at least I got a total of 3 ribbons one from each day

Overall it was a really fun show and I'm very grateful I was able to do it. I definitely don't think these shows are for me (or Cyrus) but it was still a good experience and I can't wait to get into eventing and it's gonna be a great year!

Pictures and videos are below like always 🤗
